Sash balancers are metal boxes that contain a nylon cord underneath tension.
The balancer number is a code for the stress and the cord length.
The right kind balancer will have to be used to take care of the lower and higher sash in an open position.
If you happen to replace one balancer you will have to replace both balancers.
